“If you have a picture in your mind of what Cuba looks like – sandy white beaches, valleys of palm trees – Viñales may defy your understanding of Cuba as a whole.
Viñales, located in the west in the Province of Pinar Del Rio, is a beautiful picturesque region, dessert-like and something cut out of a Wild West painting.
On this tour, travelers will explore this region, beginning with a day tour of Havana City. In Havana, you will have the chance explore Old Havana on foot in the morning, touring the different historic squares, and tour New Havana by car in the afternoon, including Revolutionary Square and the Capital Building, before departing for Viñales.
Pinar Del Rio is home to the majority of cigar plantations that manufacture Cuba’s famous cigars. On the first day in Viñales, the group will explore a cigar planation on horseback, including a visit to a neighbouring coffee plantation. You will have the opportunity to see cigars freshly rolled and dried and even try them!
Viñales is a country town but it is certainly full of life. In the evening, you will have time to try the various bars and restaurants that line the main street of the tour, enjoy the sunset,
and the beautiful ambiance of a town that is alive all year long.
On the second day of the tour, the group will explore the Cueva del Indio, a majestic cavern boat ride, which also includes an enormous hand painted mural that is iconic in the province. On the return trip, you will have the chance to explore the gardens and waterfall of Soroa before returning to Matanzas City.
